Sustainability at Park Hotel Mignon Merano
Thoughts on sustainability
Climate change and environmental protection are the most important challenges of our time. We advocate sustainable tourism development and are actively committed to minimizing our ecological footprint. With great respect for our ancestors, nature as a habitat and our fellow human beings, we are committed to a sustainable future. We are aware of the responsibility we bear as a hotel and are actively committed to protecting the environment.
Here's a list of what we're doing:
- We produce honey directly on the hotel premises: by keeping our own bees and producing our own honey, we not only support the pollination of plants, but also offer our guests the opportunity to enjoy the pure taste of our natural environment.
- A photovoltaic system provides us with environmentally friendly solar energy.
- Plastic waste poses a significant threat to our oceans and wildlife. For this reason, we consistently eliminate plastic beverage bottles in the hotel, opting instead for more environmentally friendly alternatives.
- In the WC bathrooms, we refill care products such as shampoo and shower gel for you to avoid disposable packaging.
- Disposable slippers are a thing of the past, and instead we rely on durable and sustainable alternatives.
- Water is a precious commodity, and we use a variety of measures to minimize its consumption. From water-saving faucets to training our staff to use water wisely, every contribution counts to protect this vital resource.
- Our in-house laundry allows us to be energy efficient and conserve resources.
- Our menu focuses on regional products. We work closely with local farmers and producers to source fresh, high-quality ingredients. By using organic eggs, dairy, bread and other regional delicacies, we not only support the local economy, but also provide our guests with an authentic taste experience.
- We adopt a strict waste separation and disposal policy to minimize waste and recycle valuable resources.
